Hi, guys. I have been making a game with unity. when i installed the software, i installed the pro trial version. Anyway, my game doesn t use anything from pro, it could be made just the same with the free version. I read something that you can t publish a game that was made with the pro trial version. My question is: what can i do to publish my game now ? Can i go back on the free version without ruining my work ? As i said, my game would be the same in free version, nothing would change because i didn t use anything from the pro version. If i wait a month for the pro version to expire, it will go back on the free version ? What will happend with my work? It will remain there ?
Sorry if im not concludent, but i m very scary not to lose all my work. I can t afford the pro version, i m just a highschool student.:).
Wait for your answers. I would be glad if you say me what to do, if there is a way to export my work, to save it as a project and open it with the free version and then build it again or something else.

If you're worried about losing your work it is because you haven't been backing it up regularly. You should be making backups on a regular basis. The potential to lose your work is always present.

As for bringing it into Unity Free, it should simply have the Unity Pro features disabled.

Compress the entire folder into a zip archive. If you're on Windows, the option should be available under "Send To" when you right-click the folder. Simply store the zip file somewhere safe such as an external drive.

The only thing you lose (gain?) is a "powered by unity" splash when your game starts now.

That s ok:)). The thing is that when i launch the unity using the shortcut from my desktop i have my project opened. I was scared that if i go to free the project wouldn't load anymore. So, as i understand.. it would be the same. Just click and manage liceense, and the unity will opem just the same. And my projecr will work. Right ?

That should be the case. Activate the free license and any pro features will throw errors in the console, pointing you where you need to go to remove them.

I think that through the license dialogs you should be able to switch to the normal free license, removing the trial thing.

As far as the project working in free, it would be no problem since you aren't using Unity Pro's features anyway.

Google drive is also a good option in case of a catastrophy such as a fire, flood, or storm wrecking your house.

Just for the record, the Pro Trial is to allow potential customers to evaluate Pro prior to deciding to make a purchase. If you've used the trial but have no intention of purchasing, then you're not using the Trial properly.

Also, you do know that Studica have reduced price Pro licenses for students?

No, I didn t know. Anyway, I realised that i wasnt using the pro license and i go back to the free. The problem s that i am not able to publish my game, because that watermark remain there even if i build it from the free version, that is the version i am using right now. Anyway, I read some topics and I going to reimport the whole project.

This was one of the first things I checked when I found out about Studica. You actually do have to be a full-time student.
    Now if you have kids...

C'mon, I'm sure you've had more than one customer who initially had no intention to purchase but found they couldn't live without that sexy, dark Editor skin... ;)

Yeah, that Angus McBastard seems to need a lot of Unity Pro pirated copies. I don't know how he manages to fly around the world and have so many IP addresses.

    Hi Guys,

I got Pro, and it's active. Not the trial version, it shows in the about section from help all Pro features and the SN active.

I still have the Trial Version watermark on my apps... How can I get it off? I really need to publish the apps.

I would make a new thread for your question.

This thread is two years dead.
