Unity together with Android camera/microphone functionality or in same app

Is it possible to take benefit of some of the Android functionality for instance when compiling as an android app. AND how?
As an example: I have a little 512x512 chess game running on a tablet.
Then whenever I make a move I would like to record a small snippet of audio to explain my chess move.
I have had no good experiences with using unity as a recording device for anything. But optimally I would like ONE interface/app that can handle also recording etc. without having to jump between apps.
Any info/help?
