Hey, i'm trying to use the built in unity terrain editor, a headache i must say, how to i lower the terrain below 0 ? i can only higher it and lower it back to it's starting points. How do i get it below the starting point, thanks.
Just raise the whole level of the terrain with the "Set terrain height' tool. Then you can lower. You have to understand that terrain works like an image. Where black is the highest and white is the lowest.(Or other way around..)
When on the hight tool you hold Shift and click the right mouse button, this will lower it. then use the smoothing tool to make a mountain look nicer.
Thanks, seemed to have done the trick. That seems to be a pain though, is there no easier way to do it ? or a way to automatically set the full terrain to a certain height instead of painting.
You can use RaiseHeightmap, which normally I'd link to on the wiki, but it's down at the moment. Should be easy enough to figure out though. If you're starting a terrain, use Terrain -> Flatten Heightmap... to set the height above 0. --Eric
