Ok so I've discovered how the third person script works in the unity assets, and I'm wanting to make adjustments to it so the player can take damage, hang off things (like pullys from sonic) and also grind on rails

Well I've already got some adjustments in place, but I'd mostly like to know a bit more about the script so I can make it more flexable to what I'm working on

Never seen it personally. You are the main person in our nearby proximity who has. Try to change something, see what happens. If it doesn't work, post the relevant code section (as small as possible, properly formatted, etc.) with the exact text of the error, what you expect it to do, what it's doing, and any other relevant information.
