Currently it's as follows: Personal must have splash screen, Plus and Pro not. What's wrong with that? It should be EXACTLY the opposite. People who make high quality games almost always have Pro/Plus. People who are just starting out and amateurs almost always have Personal. This means that all the crap is always branded by Unity while most of the professional games are not. AFAIK Hearthstone does not use Unity splash screen and practically nobody knows it was made with it. However every single crappy Android release will have one. The result is that Unity gets a bad reputation. People associate it with cheap, simple crap while all the gems made with it aren't promoting the engine.

The solution to this is simple. Make Personal with FORCED no splash screen. Make Plus splash optional. Make Pro splash screen MANDATORY. There should be a beautifully rendered 3/5-second Unity animation before every Pro game. This would do very well for Unity recognition and boost marketing effectiveness.

Then nobody will use PRO. But it will be good if unity makes ss optional for everyone.

I think the new splash screen gives a much better perception.

Before, an app started with just a Unity logo. It was judged as a Unity game.

Now, an app starts with a game splash screen that has a Unity logo. It is judged as a game that was enabled by using Unity.

It was created using Unity is different from it came from Unity. The new screen is much better for Unity and much better for developers (apart from the really crappy ones). I disliked the old splash screen. I am happy with the new one.
