The optix denoising in both progressive lightmappers is greyed out, and says my hardware does not support denoising.

I am using a Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 TI, which has a compute capability of 5.0. Also on windows 10 64 bit, with the newest nvidia driver installed (and computer restarted) version 418.81.

Hopefully someone can help me out in case I'm missing something. Thanks!

Wonder if Unity upgrading to Optix 6.0 came with the Maxwell+ requirement for the denoiser as well. It does run on my GTX970 here. 750 TI is Kepler based GPU.

We have recently upgraded to Optix 6 to support Turing GPUs but that version is not in the wild yet (will be in 19.2). Currently, Optix denoiser will be available on windows equipped with an NVIDIA card with a compatible driver (390+) and a minspec of 4GB video ram. Denoising uses a lot of memory so that's why we have this VRAM minspec. In 19.1 it is only supported on CPU Progressive Lightmapper.

So in 19.2 we will ship with upgraded Optix, upgrading to Optix 6 and supporting it on GPU Lightmapper. New in 19.2 is also the Intel Open Image Denoise which runs on all platforms with no memory minspec, since it runs on the CPU (https://openimagedenoise.github.io/).

Ouch.. that means my GTX 970 is not going to be able to run NVIDIA denoiser since it has only 3 GB...or was it 3.5GB.. darng.. oh well, have to use Bakery... I wonder how Bakery is handling that.

Also worth noting that most 970's have 4 GB of RAM.

Says this for me as well but I'm using a GTX 1080. Might need to do a driver update though and see because I can use the denoiser in 2019.1 just not 2019.2

Or just use Open Image Denoise, which after testing I've generally found to produce on par or better results than Optix.

I have a card that can use Optix and more often than not, I end up using Open Image Denoise.

Shouldn't it work with a 2080 ti then (driver v.430.39)?
I am on 2019.1 and its also greyed out.
Could really need it though as it might fix the heavy light leaks I have

Optix for GPU Lightmapper was never supported for 2019.1, it was greyed out for everyone afaik if you don't use CPU lightmapper. Optix runs with GPU lightmapper on 2019.2+:

I'm using laptop Nvidia 1070 (non-Max-Q) with 417.71 driver. Why I cannot use it?
