unity said i don't have the 50 gb i have on my mac

    I don't know where you're getting 50GB from. It says 1.4GB available and 10.1GB required to the right of the version.

    If you have multiple partitions only one of them has enough space, make sure that the hub is configured to install Unity to the one that has space.

    If that's your boot drive that only has 1.4Gb available, you've probably got more problems than merely being unable to install Unity.

    It is probably time for an SSD upgrade. Even if you do get Unity squeezed in there, where are you going to save your actual projects? A small to mid sized project folder can easily be 20GB. My main project is 36GB.

    It is also very bad for an SSD's health to fill it up, because its wear leveling algorithm can't function properly without sufficient free space to work with. This can cause the drive to fail much earlier than expected.
