unity Remote 5 not working with untiy 2019.2.9f1

Hello

So I just installed Unity on my Ubuntu laptop and everything seems to be working fine except for unity Remote. I used it before on the same machine but when it got a window OS and then it worked fine.
If I build the project and export it to my phone it works fine but when I open unity remote 5 and set the projects settings -> editor -> device to any android device and press the run button only unity runs the game. (Yes, usb debugging is enabled).

Are there extra steps I should take because I'm using the linux editor?
