Hi! So I just got £40.
    What should I get:
    Unity Pro
    Useful Assets from the store
    Something completely different...

I think you should keep them until you're sure of what you need ;) That said, if you're a beginner assets may help you much more than Unity Pro.

Unless you're trolling, the fact that you're asking this question proves that you don't need Unity Pro right now. Learn Unity Free first, then see if you need Unity Pro (which is way more than $40) or some asset from the store. Keep your money until you really need to spend it :)

you meant, Unity Pro + Assets, because even with Unity Pro, you're gonna need stuff.

It really depends entirely on what you're making.

No point buying a tractor if what you need is a spoon...

Well, I have £40 currently but I am also selling my guitar. That should get me another £60, then I am getting £15 from developing. So I should have enough for Unity Pro for a month... Yes, I am a beginner and I will buy Assets :)

Save your money. Use free assets and learn what you can from doing small projects, tutes and so on. There's enough free stuff available via the Asset Store and other avenues that there's really no purpose burning all your cash.

Also, as a beginner there's little chance that you'll actually need pro features in the next month. (Plus, yes it's $75/mo, but you have to buy at least a year of it.)

Yes, your first subscription is locked to a year. It's not until that year is over that you can go month to month. I suggest simply saving the money while you're learning. It'll take a while to get really comfortable with a new engine.
