There's new networking? Good, we need some new tutorials for people like me not already familiar with networking :p I learned how an RPC works from an old tutorial on youtube but it's for unity 3 I think.

We didn't get source control. We got the ability to have a cloud server that automatically creates and distributes builds when we commit to our own source control.

They did improve the relationship between Unity and source control by changing the way prefabs are serialized and improving the merging of conflicting scene files (in 5.0).

new Networking? Where did you get that information from? I want to know more. I tried the unity networking several times and it is kind of broken and old ... so that would be really good news!

Too much good stuff coming down the pipe. Given that the live demo didn't crash, I wish they could release the scary pre-alpha features for Unity 9999 now. :)

However, 4.6 and 5.0... take time to fix those bugs. Make it rock solid stable.

    Oh thanks. Sounds great.
    • Low Level API (LLAPI) provides complete control through a socket like interface
That is all I need. I just hope you can turn off the high level interface ... Currently, you can hack any unity client and use Network.Instantiate to create objects in any unity game ... and there is no way a game developer can prevent that...

I just tried Unity 4.6 and please tell your UI Programmers that I want to meet and hug them, lol
I just clicked 2 times and had a button where I wanted him to be. No more code for such simple UI
And sorry if I miscommunicated the source control thing, but the new networking system is real, as well as the open source for UI
