I'm once again excited to be here with exciting news in the world of Unity. Earlier today it was announced that Unity is a finalist in not one, but two different categories in this year's Develop Awards! Specifically, Unity is a finalist in the Technical Innovation and Engine categories:

    Technical Innovation
    Heavy Rain (Quantic Dream)
    Sony Augmented Reality (EyePet/Invizimals)
    Unity Engine (Unity Technologies)
    Bigpoint Uniter (Bigpoint)
    Split/Second (Black Rock studio)
    Hustle Kings (VooFoo)

    Engine
    Unity
    Unreal Engine 3
    Gamebryo Lightspeed
    CryEngine
    Trinigy Vision Engine

We are thrilled to be regarded so highly and hope that you're as excited as we are. The winners for all categories will be announced at the awards event being held on July 14th, here's to hoping for the best!

I have few friends working on some big titles in big studios with Unity, here in Montreal Quebec Canada! But i cant say their names sorry.
Keep in mind that Unity is spreading like a virus over studios and schools here! Is not only because Unity is quite popular right now, is mostly because Unity is a powerful tool that help you reduce game production costs and development time!

Haha, the only prize was the glory, a rather large piece of plastic with the company name on it, and free drinks that evening.

But it was an awesome evening! And we are quite quite proud :)

By the way, though we didn't win the Best Game Engine category, the official coverage text has some very nice comments about how tight the race between Unity and Unreal was, and how the world in changing, fast :)

Can't wait for Unity 3 and all the other good stuff we're doing!
