UNITY mysql php

We are creating a web application where users upload images of their work.
So the images they uploaded will be saved on mysql database.
I would like to ask if it is possible to create a virtual exhibit where we create a stage using unity and change the texture of a cube in that stage using the image in saved in mysql. The web app si coded in Php.

 

Sure. Using the wwwForm you can GET & POST using a php connect file, which can go into the database (if successfully connected) and download a png image.

tutorials we found online are using WWW with http links which we assume as online database can our localhost can be use in WWW class?

 

Sure can.

Just put the address of your localhost there. Probably will need to set up Apache and XAMP

If you know any web development, it works just like how javscript talks to php, the WWW class is very much like how javascript of jQuery requests data via a web service or a php script. It may also be worth you checking out: http://docs.unity3d.com/ScriptReference/WWWForm.html

WWWForm is in its basic is a post request, just like a post ajax call.
