Unity Monodevelop not opening Unity 2017.1.1.f1 for MacOS high Sierra

I am approaching the end of the day and none of the solutions have worked for me.
1. Uninstalled and then reinstalled Unity 2017.1.1.f1
2. Tried changing the "External tools>>Monodevelop(built-in)" option in the Unity preferences
3. Changed the permissions to Read and Write as mentioned here both for the package contents folder and the Monodevelop app itself
4. Tried opening monodevelop as a standlone app but that too quits after flashing like 5 to 10 times on the dock.Error thrown is Monodevelop quit unexpectedly. But that too is not prompted always.
5. I also saw a solution mentioning to end process that is related to Monodevelop but there are no processes runningin the Activity Monitor

 

Finally , the issue is resolved. Unity's latest patch 2017.1.1.p4 sorted the issue. The Monodevelop now opens.

 

Just download 2017.1.2 final, not sure why Unity always fails to tell people about final builds..

 

Just upgraded to High Sierra and monodevelop stopped opening all together - was using 2017.3.0b5 - so installed the latest beta 0b8 . Monodevelop started opening now, but it will not let you double click a script and open the file - Monodevelop will open but not load the script - it also freezes up Unity often during this. To open scripts, I'm having to use the File-Open within Monodev

Update: it only does it if MonoDevelop is already open, but i noticed it will open the script from Unity if I'm not currently running MD.
