    Hi everyone,
    I'm very new to blender.

I've created a very simple object in blender and imported it into unity.

However, if I try to drag a material in unity on the blender object, the material looks totally different as on an unity object.

What do I need to do, so that material looks the same?

Okay. On an object, the appearance of a blender material and the
appearance of a unity material, may look different, because both software
    were made by different developers.

What you might have to do in Unity, is drag a material onto the object
then tweak the materials properties and settings, to make it match the
look or appearance, of a blender material.

Beyond what was just said above, I'd need to know what you are doing with the materials in Blender to get the look you want, to maybe see if the same type of thing exists in Unity. We would also want to know how you are creating your textures, as we could maybe give some tips as far as how to best proceed.

    I figured it out,
I had to "Add UV Map" to "Mesh".
Now if I drag the material in Unity on the object, it looks (almost) as desired.

I'm guessing you don't have an actual UV map on the model, so you use a generated UV map that Unity gets you?
