Wow, performance seems to be very good in comparsion to the native vita unity deployment. Unity done a good job with the PSM integration.

Hmm, there are some possibly exciting suggestions in these slides.

It seems to suggest that Unity for PSM will build software only for Vita, but will basically use the same runtime environment as native Unity Vita? So much better performance on Vita vs a regular PSM build?

Or am I reading this wrong?

I tinkered with 'normal' PSM for a little while, and it felt like the runtime was limiting performance to something like a much less powerful mobile phone. Can we now use Unity to get much better perf, albeit on Vita only?

Correct - Unity-for-PSM reuses the same native runtime code we already have in place for PS Vita.

It of course depends a bit on what you were doing using the classic PSM SDK - not everything will become magically faster ;)

What tools do we need to test this? Access to the normal Unity beta with PSM tools installed?
I would like to start making plugins for this platform...

    EDIT: ignore, problem solved.

This is awesome news. The regular PSM runtime/virtual machine felt like a substantially less powerful mobile on Vita. Will be tinkering anew with PSM via Unity!
