I have been having this problem since v 5.0 of Unity. I have verified it numerous times.
When using Occlusion culling, Unity is culling game objects which are very close to the camera even when these objects are not marked occludee static. Disabling OC on the camera causes the issue to be resolved.

The gameobject is placed very close to the camera. It is past the near clipping plane.

In the game view, parts of the game object are culled, when disabling the OC on the camera, the gameobject is displayed correctly.
It happens in both Forward rendering and deferred.

IF i move the game object out a little farther away from the camera the issue is resolved. But according the near clipping plane of the camera shown in the editor, there shouldn't be an issue.
