I'd highly doubt ranting is going to help you, as frustrating as bugs may be. You should try to produce a reproduction package and file an issue on the issue tracker.

Your reproduction package should be as small as possible, with the least amount of code/assets/... necessary to reproduce a bug.

Recreate the bug in a small, simple, controlled environment and attach it in the bug report it to Unity.

Do you have any bug ids or issue tracker links I can look at? I am not entirely clear on what your issue is.

Hmm that's annoying, seems we have a regression. I have brought it to the attention of the UI team. Hopefully we can get it fixed and into a patch ASAP. Thanks

Testing is hard. Seriously - it is VERY HARD. There is no way everything can be tested, even with unit/integration tests. There will always be things that slip through the cracks.

Just because you found the single bug that perhaps had been fixed in the past and now rears its head again, it doesn't mean the developers are not testing at all.

Yeah , it's true that it's very hard and i can understand that but in same time everybody said that since unity 5 we have a lot , a lot of bug.

Everything was fine in unity 4.x.x cycle but now, with unity 5, it's just an headache everyday.

I have send some bug with the bug report without any answer, i have made some post on the forum without any answer or sometime with an answer "everything is fine in our side".

Since i have switch to unity 5, now some players (around 5/10%) get a black screen or fatal error with the web player without any reason ( i have checked the log) ==> post here http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/unity-web-player-crash.355337/#post-2298263

I have explained that they have a bug with the audio mixer and the asset bundle but it's always the same .. post here http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/audio-mixer-and-asset-bundle.338077/

    Other post http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/unity-5-mesh-collider-issue.355622/

But the best bug for me, it's this one .... http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/input-caret.355252/

In my game, when a player come on my forum to explain a bug or a problem, i test it in my game directly and i solve it.
Instead of making conference in the world for a produce who are not the the best anymore. They must employ 10/20 guy in more to test it before releasing something broken.

I have started to use an another engine now, because i'm very tired now to check the forum and issue tracker everyday and losing my time for nothing.

I hope you realize that there are only so many man hours they can work on things during the day. Not replying to a bug report doesn't automatically mean that it's not an important bug. It usually just means that noone has gotten around to looking at it yet.

Also, some bugs are hard to reproduce (regarding the "it's fine here" response.)

Every programs, engine, games ect .. have bugs, and it's normal when it's a small bug or when it's a short list (like in unity 4.x.x cycle). But it's not the case for unity 5. The list is so long ... and instead of fixing the actual bug, they are currently working on the 5.3 version .. seriously, fix the actual one first !

And don't forget that they sell a broken product (i have buyed my licence). It's maybe acceptable for free user but not for me.

Do you know how much cost a conference that they make? Instead of losing their time to try to impress everybody, the moneys lost on these conference can be useful to employ some guys to test the engine ...

Obviously I can't speak for Unity with regards to the manpower they have or what they spend their money on.

of course can be bugs on every software but Unity is famous software anymore, every people know and using, even companies, therefore they must be more careful.

and did you see,old bug again on 5.2.0,5.2.1,so once fixed and later dont test ? we are every time repeatedly test(We play the game from start to finish)

small bug not important of course, can wait.

Perhaps the test case they made is insuffcient, opening the door for regressions. I can't answer that.

I'd like to point out that ranting will make him feel better. Which is going to be helpful, to some degree. People are people, and dealing with frustrations is part of the job. Let the dude rant.

Well, I'll leave you folks to your ranting. I'ved tried to explain what might be the reasons why your particular bug you care very much about hasn't been fixed yet. I don't work for Unity, so in the end I can really just provide guesses.

Either way, this thread is not going anywhere it seems.

The issue is known about and as long as the status is Active it is not fixed.
Watch the issue tracker for an update on when its fixed and what version to expect the fix in. We know its a problem, a developer is actively working on it.

To be blunt, It does not matter what the reason is.

You should understand that when people hit problems, those problems may undermine THEIR months of work and that they will get annoyed or furious at that. If they hit too many problems, they'll leave and will generate negative publicity. It is highly undesirable outcome. And don't forget about sunk cost and cash spent on asset store purchases.

"Unity free" is a gateway to "unity pro". Unity pro is required as soon as you raised $100k in funding or earned the same amount in revenue. So every person that complains about problems on those forums is potential future customer.

I submitted multiple bug reports myself have never received notification on any updates on them.
Then I also found this amazing thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/what-has-happened-to-the-qa-in-unity.341915/page-2#post-2252140

The guy that is ranting in the first post is indicator of a problem and he is providing customer feedback. He is not happy about large number of problems he encountered and he is unhappy that they appear to not be fixed.

Instead of defending the developers - which is a waste of time - address his problems or provide a fix for them, because he has valid reason to be pissed. Trying to "explain" stuff without fixing the issue is rather pointless. People don't need explanations. They need to get things done and they need things to work as expected.

I think I can choose to waste my time in any way I want :)
Also, if they pay me, I'll be happy to try to fix their problem.
