Unity Hub won't upgrade a project created in a close version

    Unity Hub refuses to load a project done in Untiy 2019.1.5f1, even though the current unity verseion is 2019.1.3f1

    There is no 2019.1.5f1 available in the Hub. What this means is that I either need to manually import the old project into a new project for Unity Hub, or I need to specifically download this version of Unity from the Unity Archive.

    On top of that. Unity 2019.1.3f1 was available as a version in Unity Hub when I created this project, and now I can't re-install it after re-installing unity Hub.

    This is not ideal.

    As we speak, we are working on a feature for v2.1.0 to give you the ability to install the missing version.
    Meanwhile, you can download the version of your project from the archive page.

    Do we have to have the old version of Unity installed in order for the hub to upgrade a project to use a newer version of Unity?

    I could now download the old editor based on the project. but i wanted to upgrade the project to a new version.

    I started using Unity today, and encountered the same problem.
    The Unity website suggested to install 2019.4 LTS, and then I wanted to try out the newest 2021.1b3, and my projects failed to load.
    I hope this will be fixed in future, as it's a huge effort to convert existing game projects manually each time you update your Unity version.
