Unity hangs on updating license

Just tried to enter a license key to change to pro and for 5 minutes it has said "Unity is checking your license authorization. Stay tuned".

I had this issue as well (but with the Personal license). What I did was close Unity 5, and delete the license file (should be called Unity_v5.x.ulf).

You should be able to find this file under Home/.local/share/unity3d/Unity/

After deleting it, start Unity 5 again and it should say that it's your first time starting Unity 5. That's ok, just accept and log in/register key to get a new license file.

It looks like it has problems trying to change the previous license that was setup. I hope this works in your case.
