I downloaded the installer to ~/downloads and ran it in-place. So it installed itself to ~/downloads/unity-editor-5.1.0f3

Running it didn't do anything and it gave no error. The log said:

    Code (csharp):
    1. mono profile = '/home/fiona/Downloads/unity-editor-5.1.0f3/Editor/Data/Mono/lib/mono/2.0'
    2. Unable to load mono library from /home/fiona/Downloads/unity-editor-5.1.0f3/Editor/Data/MonoEmbedRuntime (x86_64)
    3. Failed to load mono, aborting
As you can see, it thinks it lives in 'Downloads' not 'downloads'. (First letter casing.)

Moving it out of here caused it to show the splash, but now I'm getting that Service Not Found error which is something else entirely obviously.
Hopefully this helps someone else get to this point at least.
