    Hi guys,

after this amazing press release that Unity is coming to the iPhone I couldn't resist and make 2 little mockup screenshots of our game Balls of Steel (#2, #3) on the iPhone. We think it matches perfect to have our air-hockey like game on the iPhone.

Kudos to the whole UT team!

Do you have nice mockup screenshots too of your game on the iPhone?

    Regards,
    Martin

    That game looks really sweet.

Here's another I did that we ended up not using (the independance day reference didn't work as well as I thought it would).

Hehe, even our upcoming car racing game looks nice on the iPhone (mockup):

(very early build of that game)

    Cool stuff...

Welcome to JC's Unity Singleplayer iTRaceON ;-)

As you can see, Unity is way ahead of Bash, and both Tron and Jashan have crashed (poor guys, didn't make it into the iPhone - there can only be TWO ;-) ).

Also notice the "Fantastic" quality settings and still 60 FPS. This clearly shows: Just a mockup ;-)

Can we get Bluetooth and WLAN multiplayer on the iPhone? That would rock big time :) even though that would be a terrible effort because I would have to come up with yet another name for that game (hm... maybe something like, JC's Unity BTandWLAN Multiplayer iTRaceONthe_iPhone)...

... even though it seems the iPhone does not really support Bluetooth:

Unedited shot ... straight Xcode though ... but moving along at a rapid rate due to a brilliant programmer (obviously not me).

Missed that the first time around ... I can only take so much excitement in one day, OK? The the old man a break!

Same here! Still, with Yoggy on it (and the other UT wizards), the real thing shouldn't be too far off...

I made this game almost a year ago using the jailbreak SDK:

...but I'm very excited by Yoggy's screenshot. Can't wait to rock Unity on the iPhone.

This one is totally unrealistic, but I just had to join in. A man can dream...

trying to select stuff with your finger could be a royal PITA though.

Trying to do anything would be a royal PITA. Typing, selecting menus, even reading text (which is definitely a large part of Unity) would be nigh impossible.

Although an actual iPhone dev tool that ran on the iPhone would rock. I think that the obvious folks to do that would be the Runtime Revolution people since their code runs on almost anything.

(I think the Newton would have been a lot more successful if they'd simply put HyperCard + Handwriting Recognition + Power Management on the Newton instead of designing a new OS, new programming language (two actually, but Dylan wasn't ready), etc. etc. In the end all that effort produced something a lot less useful than HyperCard.)
