Every time I save a scene, Unity will freeze for 10 seconds. This only started happening when I upgraded to 4.5 on Windows 8.1.

Is this not happening to anybody else?

    Thanks!

Is this also happening with a new empty scene (maybe also in a new project) or is this specific to your current project (or a specific scene)?

I just noticed it isn't happening with a new empty scene within the same project. Something in the scene must be causing this. I am not sure what, but I will investigate further.

The problem is specific to the current scene in a specific project. The length of time it freezes seems to coincide with the amount of meshes/geometry in the scene. The more models I delete, the faster it saves.

I opened up an older project with a lot of models in the scene (more than the problem project) and there was no problem saving whatsoever. I'm stumped.

Consider sending a bug report to Unity and attaching your project to it. Mention the bug number here and I will see if I can get someone to figure out what's happening. If you didn't have the same delay on Win 8 with Unity 4.3, it sounds like a performance regression introduced by some changes in 4.5 and we should investigate that.

    Will do. Thanks!

I'm under a tight deadline to finish the project though, so it might be a few more days until I do.
