Unity for standard (not 3d) mobile apps?

    Hello,
    Indie dev here considering to do some mobile apps to other business in order to survive. I was wondering if Unity would be suitable for developing standard mobile apps (those not requiring 3d graphics).
    How is Unity regarding heating too much the phone or battery consumption?
