Unity Editor not opening at all

So recently I was using unity and I put a unity package in and after waiting about 10 or so minutes the editor froze, So I just decided to end the app in the task manager and then once I tried to open it again It just won't open no matter how much I wait or how much I restart it just doesn't seem to open, Any help would be greatly Appreciated.

 

Are you trying to run Unity by opening an ongoing project or a blank one? What happens when it fails to open, does it show a error message? Do you get to see Unity's splash screen?

Give us some more details. I had similar problem last week, because I restarted the computer without closing Unity. Fortunately, I managed to get it work. I just need to make sure your problem is the same as mine.

Go to your c:/users/"your user name"/AppData/

Make sure there is a folder with just the name Unity.

If there is not, create it. If there is, copy everything from the folder to another folder, delete the folder, create a new Unity folder, and paste the copied files into the Unity folder you created.

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else it could be.

In my case it was some license issue. I just returned the license (I am using personal free license) on Hub and set it up again.

 

I just tried your solution, it worked

 

Unity said it opened but their is no new window. (macOS)

I'm suffering a similar problem and getting a new personal license today didn't help the situation all that much.

I just availed Unity Pro Student license
and installed the Unity Editor
Version: 2021.3.19f1
In the Unity Hub it said
installation was successful
but as I approached to open the editor
It gave me a pop-up saying
Application error - application was unable to start correctly
What should I do?

will this problem of not being able to open a project ever be fully patched and if so will i have to download the latest hub ?

 

does the re activated license say the incorect activation date? mine says sept 10th 2018? its currently 04/05/ 2023

The only solution is to activate new licence

 

Reactivate the license then it will work

 

i have 3 versions of unity 1 is opening but the others two not opening even i reinstall
