Resolved Unity editor doesn't open

Hello there,

I'm working on a project for school together with other game designers, artists, and programmers and since 2 days ago we've had an issue where we can't open the Unity editor. If we try to open the project through Unity Hub it shows the loading screen, but when it's done loading the editor doesn't open and nothing happens. If I try to open a scene through my file explorer nothing happens and the loading screen doesn't show.

I've already tried multiple things to resolve this. I've reinstalled Unity Hub, reinstalled the Unity version we're using, tried to reactivate my license, look for corrupt files and I've also tried to create a new project which does work.

I have attached my editor log to this post as well.

 

The editor log looks like it's trying to load your window layout and hitting a stack overflow (effectively hitting an infinite loop).

See if you can open the editor in safe mode and reset layouts maybe? Or search if there's a way to do so without opening the editor.

 

This worked. I ended up changing my current editor layout file to the default one and now it's working again.
