Unity editor crashes on startup [SOLVED]

For the last couple of weeks my Unity keeps crashing on startup. I have already tried completely reinstalling Unity multiple times and have tried different editor versions. After a clean install it works for a day but when I want to start up the editor the next day it crashes.

I have multiple error logs but in each log it says

KERNELBASE.dll caused an Unknown exception type (0xe0000001)
in module KERNELBASE.dll at 0033:aef94ed9.

Specs
Windows 10 home version 21H1 Build 19043.1165
Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
16GB Ram

After doing some more digging I found this line in my editor.log
"wakeup_pipes_init: connect () failed, error (0)"

Turns out that my VPN was causing Unity to crash, I use nordVPN and when I start up a project when connected with my VPN it crashes.

Disabling my VPN fixed my problem, hope this helps someone

 

I am using the same VPN. I was suspected my firewall was responsible, but nothing worked until I read this post. disabling VPN works like a charm, although I'm quiet Uncomfortable. looking on nordVPN to see if I can let any application bypass VPN.

 

Does unity crash in VM's I am on ubuntu 2004 and this keeps on crashing immediately I load the editor from the hub I have not been able to load the editor
