I was working on a ray tracing project on my desktop pc. Now on my laptop, when I create a new HDRP project and upgrade it to + DXR on the HDRP Wizard (therefore switching to Direct12), I can create a new DXR HD default scene and restart the editor.

However, after it restarts, the editor won't launch anymore, returning a crash window.

This is happening in every 2019. and 2020 Unity versions.

Update: Updating GPU's driver (RTX 2070 Max Q) partially solved the issue. However, when importing and scaling high-poly prefabs, the crash window appears again. It is just very unstable, unless I disable the dxr volume setting while doing major editing. (Unity 2020).

I figure the issue may be related to the Max Q factor of my graphic card?

    Hello,
We've been reproducing unstable crash with MaxQ design GPU (RTX 2080).
Could you post the zipped crash log to be able to understand if it's the same issue or not ? (AppData\Local\Temp\Unity\Editor\Crashes)

    Thank you.
