Unity Editor annoying window behavior

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but on macOS when I'm building a project some Unity windows stay on top of everything else and it's really annoying I also remember have issues with the editor stealing the focus on Windows 10.

Is there any way to disable this and just have it work like any other program?
Is this behavior really necessary and I'm missing something?
Is it just me?

Welcome to Unity. Major annoyances like this are considered low priority apparently even though they would probably be easy to fix. I've created an issue because I strangely couldn't find any.
