    Yesterday I let it ran for 4 hours before killing the task. Logs and screenshot are from today

    I had DoozyUI in the project and also saw an infinite cycle of the following log message

    I think it has something to do with which platform it tries to launch. The "current" platform seems to be broken. I have explicitly set it to Windows (thats all I develop for, and have ever launched the project in) and after 2 more crashes it opened.

    Yes this indeed seemed to be the problem. Always explicitly forcing the platform seems to work.

    Hey, Unity Team
    This bug exists for a long time, and still not fixed, and there is no reaction from your side.

    After a lot of tests, I can say that this bug appears from 2020.1.0f1 up to 2020.3.7f1 (2020.1.17.f1 and 2021.1.5f1 unity version runs okay)

    To solve this bug I can remove the library folder, but it helps only for the first launch. At the second launch importing is stuck again, and I need to remove the library again. This is very annoying to remove the library folder before every launch.

    Unity Team, please, take a look at this bug !!!

    @stream_in_space_ did you already try to specify the platform on before opening the project in the hub?

    Yes, that didn't help.
    Meanwhile, I decided to move the project to the Unity 2021 version and fix all new errors... So this not actual for me anymore.

    This bug still exists, explicitly declaring the platform did not work for me, stuck on ModuleCompilationTrigger for half an hour now

    Also stuck on ModuleCompilationTrigger, deleted library files and nothing. I think it might have something to do with using OpenUPM Scoped Registry, but I´m not sure, but it´s the only different thing about my project... will try to remove all the packages associated with it.

    Solved on my machine: I had cmd disabled by administrator, re-enabling it via registry helped.

    I fixed this by moving the project folder from a NAS location to my local disk.
    Took me an insane amount of trouble to get there, no idea why this fix is not known by Unity staff.

    com.unity.modules.physics2d/package.ModuleCompilationTrigger I still have this issue with Unity 2021.3.17f1 The file I want open is on my local disk. I have reinstalled My SDK, Unityhub, and editor several times. I also deleted the contents of my library folder. If anyone has found a silver bullet for this issue please tell me.

    For some reason, the infinite task is activated when I minimize/maximize Unity. This happens when I edit SO with a script.
