Restart MonoDevelop. Sometimes it seems to get stuck.

The amount of information you are providing is blowing me away ;)

Where are you getting the issue? In MonoDevelop or in Unity?
You simply might not have saved a script while you were working on it and then when you actually did, it gave you the compile error.

It happens. Kind of randomly. I am on Windows using VS and sometimes Unity just gets its mind set to not reimport any changes I have made to scripts. So, I made a new workflow of always right clicking on my scripts folder and selecting Reimport. That brings all of the code in again, recompiles and so no more issue with it.

I'd recommend just getting into a habit of doing that. You will find many people who will dispute this stuff is even happening because they are fortunate enough to not run into the issues. But this stuff does happen for some people. So best to just come up with a workflow that gets around it. At least that works for me.

It is practical!!!!!you save me from trying to reinstall OS. but ...... reimporting script flolder takes some time, and then later on it compiles. your workflow does solve problem, but more time (reimport scripts) is taken...
    OK,anyway I can wait,I can be patient...................
