Unity does not want to work

    Been working on a project for more than a month now and everything worked fine, then now after launching Unity it never returns and opens. I don't even get the project selection screen. It just runs as a background process all the time according to task manager and nothing, not even disabling antivirus works. This is really screwing with the tight timeline that i usually have so it would be really appreciated if someone helped

    What version of Unity? What changed on your system that you can think of? Any recent Windows updates for example? Also, if running on Windows, try running Unity as Administrator.

    Unity 2017.2.0f3 Personal (64-bit)
    Windows, I rejected and disallowed every update after the developer update so nothing changed
    Tried running Unity as Admin, didn't work
    insofar nothing on my PC really changed
