I wanted to let you know to be careful because unity juste deleted all files in my "download" folder when I did "build and run".
So I'm obviously mad and despite everything I tried I just can't get the files back but most importantly I wanted to let everyone knows that It can happen and so be careful.

If this ever happened to anyone and he / she found her deleted files, I would be more than happy to know how you did it.
    Have a nice day all.

You placed that download folder into the folder where you test the build of your game?
Yeah, it does make mostly sense to wipe that because it would be hard to keep track of what files were actually part of the last build and you'd also not want that files your game generates at runtime (like save files) to be remaining in place between two builds.

Unless you had backups of your download folder, you're SOoL.

Welcome to the hard lessons of not having a proper file management in place. Your OS's 'Downloads' should only ever be used for temporary files (such as zips and installers). All important files should be organised properly. Whether that be MyDocuments or your own system; anything is better than leaving files scattered in Downloads and your desktop like most people do in my experience.

Your builds should generally be done in a dedicated folder in your project's folder. Most of the time in early/solo development you'll just build directly into said folder. Naturally, it needs a clean slate to do so and will wipe the folder clean before hand.
