    Hello

I'm having trouble with Unity crashing my OS completely. It happens right when I open the project and the little progress bar in the bottom right corner is showing "Baking..." (lights).

It's probably due to corrupt video drivers as I've seen this crash previously in a game ("Mordhau"). The crash will completely shut down the computer and force a restart of the entire system.

Except for reinstalling OS, Is there anyway I can open my project or turn off baking from outside the Unity editor?

What Unity version do you use? Did you try to use a different version already? Have you tried to update you graphics drivers already? What OS do you use?

If you use text mode serialization for assets, you should be able to open the scene with a text editor and find the auto bake option in there, I guess.

    Hello there Peter

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Unity 2018.3.0f2 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Home OS. Tried updating as well as removing and reinstalling graphics drivers already. Didnt do any difference.

Maybe I simply just have to install Unity on another computer, open up the project there, turn off baking and then open it on my regular computer. Unless you or anyone else happen to have a better solution.
