hi , i want to start creating Some apps for Introduce some Company and Products ...

i check Adobe Flash ( air publish ) it`s nice but need to embed Air Run-time (8MB) and it make app big size .
i check Android Studio and eclipse but they seems not graphical and the app have no nice look in basic !
    *
i see a lot of nice games with nice Intro and 3d graphics and i think it will be great if i use Unity for create my app ( not games)

cause i dont really know about unity and facilities , i need a consulation and guide to see is it wisely to use Unity for my purpose or not
    ==============================================================================
there are some matters for me :

1-i need to create simple main page with some menu like : products , about us , contact us and in products i have some products with specifications and explain about them on every page

can i do this with unity ?

2-what`s the size of unity run-time for Android ? i want to know the size of my project at end export ( for example i have 100 image about 10 MB and some texts)

3-is it possible to make my app compatible with various screen sizes of devices ? cause i have this problem in flash and Graphics lose quality very bad when open in bigger screen

    Hi,

I'm actually using Unity3D for creating apps.
    1. You can do that easily with NGUI check it out in the asset store. I've been using NGUI for a really long time and it's perfect for creating beautiful GUI's. You can also wait for Unity 4.6 with the new GUI system but it's not clear how long it will take.
    2. NGUI works with Atlases. If the images are not too big you can fit them in an Atlas and it will reduce memory. If not you have to use UITextures. What I do advice is check out 9-slice scaling! That is almost essential when developing for mobile platforms.
    3. NGUI does that with it anchoring system
Check out the NGUI website, there are a lot of tutorials about how to use the plugin. Also you need to do some scripting in UnityScript or C#. Or if you don't know these languages you can also use Playmaker plugin which is a visual scripting tool (I don't have any experience with it so I can't really explain how that works).

thanks so much my friends , it`s great that i hear this :) So Unity can be use for create none Game apps ?
    is that NGUI website ?
    http://www.tasharen.com/?page_id=140
well i don't have much knowledge about C# but i think i can handle this by Playmaker plugin and Google ( cause i want to create simple go to next - previous page and not pro code needed )
so sorry , as it seems u familiar with my purpose and you did it many times i have a few another questions :
1-is unity have Device Emulator and can test apk in various device and screen size ?
2-how much apps created by unity compatible with Devices ( i see some not responding message when i try to run some apps on my phone and they run without problem on some others )
3-is unity apps need embed run-time code and if yes , what`s a size of this run time estimated ?
i ask this question cause first time i use Flash and Adobe Air for create app and it was nice but i saw after embed Air run-time the size of my app grows up to 8 MB ! and the size of very simple app without graphics will be more 10 MB and
it`s not nice for Bluetooth to other devices or download consider the app is very basics so i give up it

(of course Air run-time can be download from Google play or amazon and not embed , but many users from different country have problem with Google play or have no internet connection always)

    1. You can use any Android emulator to test .apk Apps
    2. I cannot understand that sentence
    3. Unity created Apps are at least 10 megabytes (give or take)

You can do anything with Unity, tho its mostly used and focused on making games.

    1. No Unity doesn't have that sort of emulator. You'll have to find it your self. Bluestacks is a pretty good emulator. Unity editor however has the ability to change the screen sizes, and aspect ratio, and that's what you want I guess, so its all good there.
    2. Most ARMv7 android phones are compatible with Unity builds. Anything below won't work (without digging around).
    3. Yes that's pretty much the minimum.

Also you don't need NGUI if you don't wanna/can't pay, you can do any of that stuff without it too, its just a bit harder. But yeah NGUI makes it easy.
