Unity Built In Shaders Benchmarked

    When I was starting in Unity, I found the performance implications of selecting shaders non obvious - so I thought I'd create this resource!

    It's an interesting chart to see. I'm sure it will help with picking shards. I agree that figuring out how shaders affect performance was non-obvious to me as well.

    I don't know what materials/models you used to set up the Unity scene to test these on, but if it's something you could release as a build and have other people test on their systems as well, you could create a range of information from various computer configurations.

    My expectation would be that the GPU would make the biggest difference, but that might also show useful patterns like X CPU or Y memory changes the base numbers. Plus the difference in how different video cards from the various manufacturers handle things.
