Well it started as a nice joke, got immediate success (it's catchy) and then why not testing the market? Someone in the world has seen it here today and already submitted to App Store, would you bet? If he makes sales, good for him.

For sure, and I wish him all the best with his app, I really do.
I just think it would have been nice since the community was loving it so much to do a free Android build for us :D

End of the day, yes we're devs and we need to make money, so good luck with your app ArowX

Sorry dude if you can't afford 69p to help support the developer who made it.

I tried selling it for less but Google complained!

Very nice. I got to 8990 with the following specs on this system:

    i7 2600k @ 4.6ghz
    16gb DDR3 @ 1333mhz
    GeForce GTX 670 @ 1390mhz core and 7180mhz memory

Seems this stresses the CPU memory a lot more than the video, clearly :). This was in the webplayer.

Definitely. I wonder how high people would go if Unity were multithreaded.

Holy shiiiiattt, it is probably because Unity cant use your computer to its full.

I got 3985 on a dell studio 1555 from 2009 with core 2 duo 2.4ghz, 4gb of ram and some other stuff that i cant remember.

Anyone else getting this with the webplayer version really low numbers currently up to 505 but climbing very slowly on a second monitor hovering about 30fps, but then the really fast on main monitor (starts out with 60fps)?

    ATI Radeon GPU.

    Ha Ha 4890 @ 1024 x 768 full screen, mode Fantastic!

    890 frames faster!

OK I cheated I changed the test, it was CPU bound due to the render pipeline settings, the new version allows Unity to dynamically batch all of those cubes up.

So if you have a chunky GPU let's see your scores?

New windows version zipped up! cubemark.zip 6.73mb

~7k on web on 30 fps. It could probably get up a little with the desktop version.

    7735 web player
5515 default settings standalone (err huh?)
5685 lowest settings standalone (Say wha?!?!?!)

Well, it seems web player is more efficient for me... somehow.

This is a nifty little tool... I was able to reach nearly 8000 cubes before my frame rate drops below 30fps... gonna run it again with nothing in the background... I had zbrush and many programs running. And this is good since I want my game to run at 30fps and at the lowest 25. Also ran this test on the standalone system.

    Here are my specs:

    Core i7 990x @3.47Ghz
    12GB DDR3 RAM
    GTX 570
    1920x1080
    FPS Target: 30
    Fantastic: 9055 Cubes
    Beautiful: 8995 cubes
    Good: 8975 cubes
Simple: 9055 cubes (this was a weird one)
    Fast: 9085 cubes (wth?)
    Fastest: 8980 Cubes

EDIT: Used the latest version of CubeMark for this data. And i think when you update this, you should also display the quality setting in the HUD. Upon further testing, the FPS doesn't even drop below 29fps. And in the newest version of Cube Mark, I didn't see any shadows casting...

What quality did you run this at? Did you run this at full screen... what is your screen resolution?

To be honest, I did cheat a little... I set the screen resolution to 800 x 600 and ran it in full screen. I wanted to see exactly how many cubes my GPU could render.

If that is considered cheating, well, then I can run it again and see what I get. I'm sure it'll be lower.

I ran this at 640x480 at fantastic and I got 9245 for cube count. I am doing testing right now, at all resolutions... I have updated my post with the current results.

The Unity 4 version could render fewer cubes for me before my framerate dropped below 30.

    Unity 3.5) 6530
    Unity 4.0) 5535

Odd, 4.0 seems slightly faster on my ageing Radeon HD4850 around the 3900.

    What spec hardware?

Is the 35 a typo, no way you should get that level of difference what web browser did you use?

Not a typo :) Google Chrome... Here's a screen of it... Actually, must have been a bug the first time I ran it. This time, I got: about 2700 without it dropping below 30 ever, and 3710 before it couldn't get back above 30fps (Unity 3.5 webplayer.)

    Unity 4 Webplayer:
2600 without it dropping below 30 once
3595 was when it couldn't get back above 30fps

Cool just downloaded the latest webplayer with an updated engine and getting slightly faster score than I used to standalone!

So what are you waiting for benchmark your current webplayer update and benchmark the new one!

Not bad I suppose, considering the card's low power and heat, small size, and low price.

These cubes don't have colliders on them do they? I don't know if the camera is moving, or the cubes. Cause if the cubes are moving and they have colliders on them, that will take a big toll on the physics. Just a suggestion in case you didn't think of it. :)
