Unity APK parsing error on phone android version 6.0.1

I've been working on a mobile game and I was trying to build it to android. I wasn't able to get the android SDK working but after hours of research I was able to get unity to build the APK file for my game. But when I transfered the file to my phone I got the parsing error message. I've read that you normally get this message when your phone is using a older version of android but I believe this isn't my case. I've built games before (on my old laptop) and I was able to run those games on my phone without any problem.

Does anyone know what I'm maybe missing here? I feel like I've tried everything.

 

I tried Build and Run (what actually crashed my phone), I transferred the file to my phone with a micro USB cable and via mail. None of them worked.

I also had a friend downloading the entire project (via Unity Collab) and let him build it for android. He got the project to build and actually install but he ran into this error:

Unable to initialize the unity engine.

We tried changing the NET. of the project because people in the forums said that that worked for them but it didn't work for us. Do you maybe have any suggestions of fixing that problem?

 

i encountered same problem.
Unsigned package installs and works fine but the signed apk gives "parse error".
