You post got approved 45 minutes ago.
Its a difficult process to have a spam free answer system and getting the new users fast onto the public.
Sorry that you had to wait like 10 Hours.

Thanks for the reply. That's excellent news! I understand there must be a strain but is there not a load of moderators? I assumed that the community was fairly large, it's a shame that there isn't a faster route to get answers

Only user with over 1000 Karma/Reputation can "View moderation queue and approve contributions".
And if you have over 1000 Karma/Reputation how much free time of yours would you spend watching the moderation queue?
I have only at 702 Karma/Reputation at the moment so a little more to go.

Yeah I read that on the FAQ, and I completely understand that point but if you've got over 1000 Karma then you clearly have enough time to be a very active member of the community, so why would you not spend time watching the queue?

I mean answering the questions is obviously the most direct method of help, but approving the questions is more helpful in that it allows the question to be answered. It's just down to personal preference I guess.

We have loads of moderators with over 1000 karma points. Not sure how many actually moderate, though. I moderated 100 questions today, which had been submitted in the last 21 hours. :-(
