Forgive me my ignorance but, I have been a member of the Unity sites for a year or more, but only started really using Unity Answers and/or these forums recently as I started coding with Unity recently.

I often end up at Unity Answers when I google some Unity related topics.
I even tried asking some things on Unity Answers but the thing is as I have only "3" points reputation, it seems that whatever I ask has to be reviewed by a moderator first.

In the end I don't think I ever had (or very scarcely) a moderator review my questions so most of the time they seem to be just lost/forgotten somewhere. I don't think moderators closed all my questions. I know how to write good questions, I have lots of practice from StackOverflow. We all have, right?

When/how will I get enough reputation so I that I can start using Unity Answers normally?
As it is now I can't even vote up/down questions or do anything really.

I'm not using Unity for fun - this is my job and I wish there was a little more helpful backup than this. UA being a no-go for me is a real showstopper.

Yes thank you and are you insinuating that my questions are all spam?
No offence but most of the questions on Unity Answers are, no pun intended, just questions and few have any answers. Maybe the Unity Answers tight system and the lack of answers are connected.

I did not mean to insinuating you or your questions.
If you use the answer side you will get fast over the 15 points mark and your questions will no longer require to be approved by the moderators.

You mean I should answer some questions before I can ask myself? Maybe there's a point in that. But I think I'll have to resort to StackOverflow and the likes for now.

What if you're not an expert and so can't provide any answers worth an upvote? The system is so crap I hate having to wait days for a moderator to come along and accept my questions.

Days? Really? I spend a bit of my personal time moderating on Answers, and it's rare that questions are more than 18 hours in the queue. There's at least around 500 users who can moderate on the site. Also, there are changes to Answers happening this week which should make new-user questions appear much more quickly.
