    Hello,

    I just finished with an app and want to upload it to app store connect. Before sending it in for review, I need to fill out the app privacy forms on data collection. Is there any guidance on how to do it?
    I myself don't collect any data from my users directly, but I have Unity analytics, Unity ads and Unity In-App purchases on.

    Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fill out basic information like this.

    Specifically, I would like to know how to answer the following questions:

    1

    Any advice would be helpful.

    Don't expect such things from Unity, especially for stuff on mobile platforms.

    Unity team - I'd really appreciate this if you can answer the OP's questions. Apple are expecting us to tell them exactly what kind of information we collect from our users and exactly how we collect it, but since Unity is doing all of the data collection itself, behind the scenes, we can't provide all the answers.

    Specifically I'd like to know:
    1. Do you link the data you collect to the user's identity the way Apple describe it (see the OP's screenshots)?
    2. Does either Unity Analytics or Unity Cloud Diagnostics collect what Apple call "Performance Data" (launch time, hang rate or energy use)?

    Contrary to rumors, the reason we are somewhat slow to respond to these issues is that Apple keeps changing their policies! We've had direct conversations between our legal and engineering teams, only to have the policies change the following week. But this might help https://unityads.unity3d.com/help/ios/apple-privacy-survey

    Thanks JeffDUnity3D! That's exactly what I needed (regarding Unity Ads at least). Now I just need to find similar pages regarding data collected by Unity Analytics and Cloud Diagnostics.

    What about if I am using Unity Personal. I personally do not collect any data with my game, but I know that games developed with Unity Personal do collect some sort of data and we can't disable it. What should I write in my privacy policy? Do you have a document I can link that explains what kind of data is collected by Unity?

    The Unity license version does not matter. The link was already provided in the post above yours.

    I am not using Unity ADS nor Unity Analytics, but I understood (please correct me if I am wrong) that Unity collects data even if I am not using these services.

    In the Unity Privacy Policy there's written:
    • User device information: When you play a game built with Unity Software, Unity may collect some or all of the following information when you use the game:
      • Unique device identifier generated from the device MAC/IMEI/MEID, which we alter to limit the ability to identify the relevant device in the future;

      • An advertising ID, such as the Apple IDFA or the Android Ad ID;

      • IP address;

      • Device manufacturer and model;

      • The operating system and version running on your system or device;

      • Browser type;

      • Language;

      • The make of the CPU, and number of CPUs present;

      • The graphics card information, such as type, vendor and driver name, version and graphics API;

      • Amount of system and video RAM present;

      • Current screen resolution;

      • Unity Player and Unity Editor versions;

      • Operating system identifier (e.g., Mac, Windows, etc.);

      • A checksum of all the data that gets sent to verify that it did transmit correctly; and

      • App ID of the game installed.

    What about this? How should I answer the Apple Privacy Survey in this case?

    If you are not using any services, then no data is sent. You can use Charles Proxy to confirm https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002917683-Using-Charles-Proxy-with-Unity

    Hi @JeffDUnity3D :)
    I'm reading the guide here: https://unityads.unity3d.com/help/ios/apple-privacy-survey
    but unluckily the following field of Apple's survey is not present in the guide:
    What should I answer to this?

    Also, when answering to data usage purpose, I don't see "Tracking" as an option (but only 3rd party advertising, marketing, analytics, product customization, app functionality, and other). Should I choose "other" to include "Tracking"?

    Thank you in advance :)
