Do you guys know Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI for short)? If not, it helps us archaeologists quite a lot. You can read about the technology here: http://culturalheritageimaging.org/Technologies/RTI/
and there's a nice webplayer here (click "entra", then "esplora collezione"/"explore collection" on the left): http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/PalazzoBlu/

As I've posted a while ago, I'm working on my master thesis now and started a Unity project for that. I'm already really far with this, but I thought it would be cool if there was a plugin for RTI so when you click on an object, an RTI viewer opens. Luckily, the code by Cultural Heritage Imaging is OpenSource, you just have to request it via email: http://vcg.isti.cnr.it/rti/rtiviewer.php

I'm new to programming but can't help wondering whether it'd take a lot of effort to include this into Unity somehow, since we archaeologists use Unity, SfM/Photogrammetry, Laserscanning and RTI quite often now.
(I'm also sure game engines can somehow make use of that for more realistic textures, but don't ask me how)
