    Hey,
I recently saw the new hp sprout, which looks awesome, and really want to know unity's plan to integrate with it.

    Thanks

While nice, it's simply too expensive for Unity to care.

Soz I'm not really a pro. Has there already been releases of unity so that I can develop on such platforms?

I'd pay that amount for the right development rig. In fact I think I paid about that for the rig I'm on now a few years back. If it provides genuine productivity gains it would easily be worth every cent you spent on it. On the other hand it could end up just being gimmicky.

I do agree with you that this is totally an abuse of the word democracy. But no worse then Unity's use of it.

$0 for fully functional Personal edition isn't cheap? Would you like to be paid by UT to use Unity then?

Intriguing. It's not cheap, certainly. But it seems to be geared more toward creative solutions. And any artists on these boards can probably tell you how much they're used to spending on their tools. This thing could potentially be comparable to Wacom pads and Cintiq computers. If it has the kind of performance to allow it to punch in that area, that $1,800 price tag isn't going to look so bad. High-quality computer art tools are usually very expensive.

Having shifted over to the more technical end of things, I probably won't be picking one of these up any time soon. Most of the work I do simply wouldn't benefit from a rig like that. But I can understand the appeal.

It's essentially a very high resolution stationary equivalent to the technology in the HoloLens. At least that's the impression I've gathered from reading up on it in the past. I'm expecting similar technology to catch on even if one specific platform does not.

You don't even need to go with the HP Sprout specifically as the HP Envy has the RealSense camera too.

Are there any RealSense USB cameras so I could use it on my desktop computer?

Nothing fully supported by the SDKs.
