Unity Ads Payout profile registration confirmation email - Account hacked?

    Hey all,

    I received the following email from Unity today and was wondering if anyone else has had one?

    Unity Ads Payout profile registration confirmation
    Dear customer,

    This is to confirm that your payout profile has been registered at Unity Ads.

    If you didn't do this yourself or by other payout administrator, please contact us.

    I've not set up any kind of payout profile and can't even find a section of the dashboard where you can do this. Just trying to make sure my account hasn't been hacked.

    Thanks for contacting us. Actually, not aware where this mail would have come from, but in any case you should contact our support at unityads-support@unity3d.com so you can verify that the information is correct.

    I got this last night, too. There is a payouts section in the account settings (My Account, then click on the Organization) which I don’t remember seeing before, listing Unity Ads (and Asset Store as upcoming), but clicking on the Unity Ads link just brings you back to the Unity Ads page. So I assumed this was part of the long-ago mentioned implementation of a payout system (to replace/augment the wire transfer payment)

    I hope so. The wire transfer system is so backwards. Now that they have a US based office (and are collecting tax), the least that they could do is ACH.

    I got this email as well. I imagine more than us three got it. Perhaps a statement or some explanation would be good? I contacted support but I have not received a response.

    Thanks for bringing this up!

    As part of our current payout system update, our system accidentally sent out messages unintentionally and they might have caused some confusion. Your account is safe, hasn't been hacked and there's no extra payouts being processed or sent by you to trigger this - please ignore the message.

    Well, it's good to know the new payout system is on the way! I look forward to not filling out invoices and paying wire transfer fees in the future.

    I'm new here and I just wanna add that unity Ads is a legit platform, so that's a good start. However, if you hadn't set up any payout profile and could not find the section in your dashboard, it's wise to be cautious.
