Unity 5 - Sloppy performance in editor, smooth on mobile

    It's a very simple 2D game, which in 4.6 the project ran smooth in both the editor and mobile (S3 and Iphone 6), but now within the Unity 5 editor the game stutters even though the Stats panel shows 300+ FPS, and as the title says, it runs smooth on mobile.

    Any suggestions? I have OPENGL emulation disabled.

    I just upgraded to Yosemite and Unity 5.0.1

    In the standard assets project, After disabling vsync in the editor (its disabled by default?) and using quartz tools as described above, I'm getting between 1 fps and 5 fps with the car camera demo scene when windowed and 1 FPS when maximise on play is selected...

    3.06 cpu iMac, 8gb ram 256mb vram.

    can confirm with unity 5.0.2 and yosemite
