    Hey!

I've just downloaded and installed Unity 5.
I've had no problems with the previous versions.
Thou on this one I do. Unity uses max 8% of my CPU and 300-350 mb og ram.

Is it possible to change this, so Unity uses more of my CPU and ram?

Does this also happen in an empty project? Do you use extensions from the Asset Store?

In an empty project its not slow no. And no, its a clean installation so no extension from Asset Store.

What do you have in the project?
Extensions are a part of your project, so a clean install won't help you. Do you use any 3rd party packages in your project?

Only thing is one tree I'm trying to make with the tree creator that comes with the installation. Nothing else at all.

As soon as i add a few branches it starts getting slow, and if i add leafes its unusable.

I dont know if bumping is a thing here, but bump <333

I've been making a scene now with terrain, and loads of trees (from the terrain painter thingy) and its not lagging at all. So its something with the tree creator i believe.

Which tree creator are you talking about? Where did you get it?

When exactly is it slow? Could you show a screenshot of such a situation?

As i said, as soon as i add a few brances and leafes, the program gets slow.

Now, theres alot of leafes here, but it'd still be the same with even half the leafes.
And yes, also with smaller leafes.

Have a look at the error messages in the console. How many messages do you have there?

"unable to load icon" unaware of how many there is, but when i press clear, they wont come back unless i make more brances/leafes

I cant even check the checkbox next to where you can change the name so it disepears. Unity is still slow as hell.

Error messages can kill the performance if there are enough of them. That's why I am asking. It doesn't seem too unlikely that this is the cause of your issue. Is the number of error messages heavily increased while you are using the tree tool?

I tested it again, and if i remove the messages they're not comming back. And i still experience the perfomance problem.
The program also goes into "not responding" when this happens

I just tried to reproduce your issue, but wasn't able to do so. Which version are you using? And if you start in a new project to create some trees, do you also get that problem?

    Windows 8.1.

Its not the viewport that is slow. Its the creator and unity. Adding texture takes 5 minutes.

no. I really don't understand the problem. Maybe the update installed badly. I would try to reinstall unity. I think it will fix it. I hope it saves everything on some account. I hope this is useful

Just did a fresh download and install and the problem is still there.
Unity bearly uses any ram at all.
I see it use anywhere from 150-350mb of rab when this happens.

Are you still being spammed with error messages in the console? This has a huge impact on the performance!

I'm sorry for the late responce, I've been without computer and internett for the last few days.

I get 5 error messages. This is one of them. The other ones are exactly the same, except its "Rotate Branch, Free Hand, Move Leaf and Rotate Leaf"

Unable to load the icon: 'Move Branch|Select a branch spline point and drag to move it. On'.
Note that either full project path should be used (with extension) or just the icon name if the icon is located in the following location: 'Assets/Editor Default Resources/Icons/' (without extension, since png is assumed)

The program takes 15mb with just one (crappy) tree.

Ok that tree is the problem. 15 mb for a tree is too much. Where did you make or get that tree?

ok i do not understand. Only solution I see is making a different tree. 123 mb for one tree is far to much.
