After upgrading to Unity 5, I've noticed the following. I have two states with a transition that between them based on if an integer equals or does not equal a number. When the object is instantiated, it sets the integer: animator.SetInteger ("PowerUpType", (int) reward); However, it takes about 1 second for it to kick in and transition to the other state.

    Anyone else experience this?

Well, it turns out this is because "has exit time" was set on the transition between the default and the new state.

    I don't recommend doing that.
