    Hi guys

    So I'm trying to figure out how to get GI working in Unity 5 (have tried both B18 and 22) and I can't get any kind of bounced light on my objects. Even following the video in the lighting workflow from this page http://blogs.unity3d.com/2014/09/18/global-illumination-in-unity-5/ where I place an object on a plane in a new scene gets me no reflected light on the object from the ground, nor any darker areas on the ground, and emissive materials don't light up anything.

    So I was wondering if there was a tutorial, or intro blog post or something explaining how to get GI working. Or if someone has a simple project where its working that they would be willing to post so that I can try learn from it. I have watched all the different videos I have found from Unity on lighting (like the SciFi round room) but they all just show off the setting on an already working set up.

    I am thinking of doing a tutorial on Enlighten for Unity... and I also have a unity package you can tinker with...

    A tutorial would be wonderful, I'm sure a lot of others would find it useful, and I definitely would.

    Thanks for the unity package I imported it into a new project (plain vinela with nothing else) and all I get is a scene with a bunch of materials that have no shader selected. So I'm guessing its lacking some other assets or something.

    I am using another shader package... just switch to Unity 5 standard.

    If you cant figure out something such simple as GI in unity 5, forget about developing ;

    Nothing wrong with a guide... it is actually nice to see other workflows.

    Agree, detailed guide with detailed description of every field would be nice anyway.

    We're working hard on docs, blogposts and tutorial videos for the new graphics features as we speak, and they should be out in time for 5 launch and beyond. Things have been reworked and refined a lot since the last round of tutorials we made (for beta 6 or so) so we're keenly aware that new info on all of the shiny new things is needed.

    For now, a few quickstart gotchas are to make sure that your scene objects are set to lightmap static, Precomputed Realtime GI is checked on, as well as enabling Continuous Baking. Make sure also that you have sensible values in the Lighting Tab - General GI Indirect and Bounce default to 1, which should show bounce and emission, but crank these up if needed. Realtime Resolution of 2 should be more than enough to give good results and show any bounce correctly.

    Will you guys have the ability to bake in light bleed without lights? I was able to get colour bleed by setting everything to real time and setting the point light to mixed.

    Ok thanks for the help and tips guys, I'm now getting predictable results!

    @Roni92, I'm the artist on a project so developing isn't my problem, but setting up the scene with my art and lighting it is.
