My development has come to an abrupt halt since Unity has started crashing whenever I try to open a project, even a new one. For my most recent attempt, I uninstalled it, cleared out its registry keys manually, restarted, and reinstalled Unity 5 (specifically 5.1.2f1).

When I run it, I get the splash screen and the Projects window. When I click on New Project and then Create Project, the editor starts to come up, and then I get the "Unity Editor has stopped working" crash window.

Attached is the Editor.log file (apparently .log files are barred from upload..??). Hopefully somebody with far more expertise than I have can make heads or tails of it.

Looks like it's DX11 related. Could you try DX9 to see if that addesses things? The log file has a lot more info though so perhaps can help the graphics team root out a DX11 bug.

Also, if possible could you send in a bug report with a project that will repro this? So far the information isn't quite enough to find the problem yet.

Not sure what you mean when you say "try DX9" - do you mean uninstall all versions of DirectX back to 9?

I'll file a bug report, but I highly doubt it's the kind of thing that can be reproduced. I get this behavior on *any* project, even a brand new, empty project.

Edit - if the normal way of reporting a bug is to do so through the editor, but I can't get my editor to run, how do I submit a bug?

Found it - should have been more thorough. I've got an nVidia Quadro K1000M that needed a device driver update following some recent Windows 7 update. Everything works fine now. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Alex!
