Heads up: U5(b20) has really bad performance on all high end CPUs such as the i7, this is because of hyper threading.

Users would have to disable hyper threading in the BIOS not to have lag in processes such as occlusion culing (which is using the new job system).

This is the only thing holding back our release: http://store.steampowered.com/app/242860/?snr=1_5_1100__1100

Using beta for production can make some unpleasant surprises for you. I use it for production too because of 64 bit Editor, but I know when I get the official release Unity 5.0, I will never use an Unity beta for production in the future. By the way, b20 is really bad and I'm waiting for b21.

Never release on a Beta platform. Always build on latest stable release. If you wish to test new features, fork the project for use on beta and add new features to try out. Then once Unity has those features in a stable version, then build them into the main project and release a patch.

Mike if you have a test scene that you have multithreading performance issues on. I got a iMac i7-4790K processor with 32GB DDR5. I could do some comparative tests.

So far haven't seen any hit to performance for my projects, except when using the Oculus Rift SDK's in Unity 5 Pro. I'll let you guys know if I see the above issue.
