so what happened to directional-specular lightmaps?
    What do we use now?
With 5.6 our light maps suddenly look like garbage after re-bake

Depending on your platform, use more realtime lights (without shadows, they should be fast enough) in mixed mode, cubemap reflections, SSR.

    Hey @AcidArrow
we are on mobile...even a single realtime light degrades performance severely.
we do use light probes and reflection probes. The problem is now everything looks very plain with no specularity...
We have spent eternity baking our maps to look decent with directional-specular approach

Am I missing something? How could change like this go live without offering alternative? ^^'
    i simply don't understand

Well, since Directional Specular was quite heavy itself, by using just Directional or Non-Directional, you'll hopefully have enough performance to afford a couple realtime lights (without shadows) ?

I get that it's a bummer for people that have created an art style around that mode, but it's been a flawed concept from the start. Maybe stay with an older Unity version?

Unfortunately older version of Unity doesn't work for us. there are some serious flaws related to network.
so after long talks to both Unity and Apple the only way for us was to update.
our game is live now and our lighting is broken,...just great =)
    very professional

Thank you AcidArrow for your advice. We will go back to drawing board and try what can be done...

I see. Yeah I solved my problem by writing my own shader. It can be a big nuisance though because of bad documentation. If you wanna chat about it I'm usually around here. Maybe we'll find some stuff out together idk.

I don't have an answer because I don't understand the issue. But I do want to point out that using the Subtractive Lighting Mode under Lighting could possible allow you to use old settings elsewhere, since Substrative is the old mixed mode.
